My name is Nick Losselyong, and I am a Pre-service Art Teacher that attends St. Norbert College in DePere Wisconsin. I am originally from Menasha Wisconsin, and graduated from Menasha High in 2014, which is only about thirty minuets south of SNC. In high school, I was involved in a large number of extra curricular activities. I was a member of the Student Council, the pep-band (where I was a Drum Major), the Art Club, the lacrosse team, and I also played football. All of theses activities that I participated in really helped shape me into the person that I am today. Another aspect of my life that has molded me a lot, is my desire to volunteer. In high school, we as students were required to reach a certain amount of hours volunteered in order to graduate. To some it was viewed as a burden, but to me it was the exact opposite.

I found a lot of joy in giving back to the community, and once I reached college, I did not want to give that up. That is why, here at SNC, I still find ways to volunteer. For the past two years, I have lived in a housing situation that requires each resident to volunteer. My roommates, and myself chose to live in these situations because of our passion to volunteer, and I am very grateful that I have been able to continue on a path in my life where volunteering is an option.
The desire of mine to give back to the community is one of the biggest reasons to why I have chosen to go into education. I have always had a passion to reach out to others, and I can not think of a better way of doing that than putting myself in a educational situation where I can help sculpt young beautiful minds. It is truly and amazing thing how a teacher can positively impact a students life, and that is something that I will strive to do every day of my teaching career. |
